To all my friends and family, I have put this site together to enable all of you to follow my journey with Carcinoid Cancer also known as Neuroendocrine Cancer or NETS.

Many of you have expressed an interest in following my progress and this seemed the best way to keep you all informed. This is a work in progress and will be updated as news and time allows. Many of you are not familiar with my type of Cancer so this will be educational as well

.I am in good company with this very rare Cancer. Many of you have heard of Steve Jobs battle over the last 10 years with Pancreatic Cancer. Most of you are unaware that he actually had Neuroendocrine Islet Cell Tumor which is very different from the more familiar Pancreatic cancer that took Patrick Swazy's life .Another familar figure to lose his battle not too long ago was Dave Thomas of "Wendy's" Hamburgers.It was listed as Liver Cancer. I stand amongst Giants!

I intend this site to be dedicated to all those who are stricken with the big "C" and don't really know where to begin and also to create awareness for the lack of treatment which is not available in this country. Forcing many patients to travel to Europe to seek life saving treatments at a great cost. Many of these treatments are not considered experimental except by the FDA. They are the protocal and standard of care overseas, but cost US citizens Thousands of Dollars which is not covered or re-imbursible by our Health Insurance plans !

My Story

I was diagnosed in early February 2012 with a 5cm Tumor in my right Lung. Since then after many tests, biopsy's, scans and various Doctors and Hospitals I have learned that the Cancer has spread throughout my body Metastasizing to my Medistinal cavity, lymph nodes, Thyroid, , Liver, Pancreas, all the Vertebrae in my spine and also both side of my pelvis ! So a lot for me to cope with in the last 2 months! There is hope.
I have been accepted to participate in a clinical trial in Houston Texas at Excel Diagnostics.
I leave May 1st for two weeks treatment with "PRRT" a targeted radiation treatment not yet approved by the FDA here in this country.
 In Europe however this has been the STANDARD of treatment for the last 10-15 years with EXCELLENT results.
Since it is not yet approved in the USA my Blue Shield/Blue Cross Anthem PPO health insurance will NOT cover the cost of the 4 treatments over the next 8 months.
I have to deplete my 401k to pay for the $60,000.00 cost of the treatments, not too mention the cost of airfares, hotels and rental cars.
Although I am still working as much as possible, I am already going under and unable to meet my financial obligations. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I feel humbled and saddened by this and find it hard to believe that in this great country of ours that someone can work hard their entire life, pay taxes, raise a daughter as a single mom, have great? Health Insurance and yet now stand to lose all that I have worked for. Please go to
